Ten months ago we were sitting at home in front of the computer desperately trying to find someone to manage a building project for us in Turkey. We had no design in mind, spoke no Turkish and had no idea where to start. Despite warnings and reservations from family and friends, the only option was to literally ‘Google’ and see what came up. Finding Kalkan Horizon was no more than a stroke of luck.
Our initial email to them was replied to straight away and after several phone calls with Lea we arranged to meet her and Soner in August 2008 during our summer holiday.
Within a two week period, Soner and Lea introduced us to their architect Adil, who, after just a couple of days, produced a design that reflected exactly what we wanted. We were shown numerous completed and ongoing projects, which left us in no doubt as to the quality and skills of their team.
A very concise contract was drawn up in both English and Turkish, and on October 15th (exactly on time) work commenced. From the very first day, Soner was on site managing his team, keeping the project up to standard and on schedule. With a steady flow of photos from Soner, we felt we were there every step of the way.
During our visits in December and March, Soner and Lea relentlessly pounded the streets of Fethiye with us choosing tiles, bathrooms, kitchen appliances etc, always haggling for the best deal. We visited the site on many occasions and were always impressed with the quality of the workmanship and how smoothly the project was running.
We are now approaching the final phase. Tiles are being laid and soon the kitchen (made by Ibo a local carpenter) will be fitted. Exciting times! We can’t wait to see the finished product.
As a team, Soner and Lea took away all our fears of building a house abroad. Language barriers were broken and local legislation was dealt with competently.
We would like to thank Soner and Lea for all their hard work in making this a very pleasurable and stress free experience.

I cannot thank Lea and Soner enough for their expert advice, support and guidance through the process of viewing and buying a villa in Kalkan. They listened to what we wanted, and showed us appropriate properties. They were professional and reliable at all times, and made us feel very secure and safe. They also treated us with respect and consideration at all times. Their services extended beyond simply those of an estate agent, organising cars, food, translations, they seemed to know what I needed before I did. They are a winning combination, knowing all about local issues, laws, culture, companies, services, and I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone thinking of buying a property in Kalkan. You are in safe hands.

We thoroughly recommend the service we experienced from Lea and Soner
at Kalkan Horizon, which offered excellent value. They brought a
combination of local knowledge, expertise and calm competence to
meeting our needs. For example, they listened carefully to our wants,
e.g. preferred location, size, facilities, budget limit, and matched
appropriate properties for viewing, which made the maximum use of our
limited time. They removed much of the bureaucracy from the purchase,
keeping us informed at all times of what we needed to do and providing
direct assistance in a fuss free but supportive way. At no time were
there nasty surprises or hidden costs. Since our purchase they have
provided a great deal of help in setting up bank accounts, helping with
customs clearance on items shipped from the UK and assistance in
furnishing the property through local contacts, which has achieved
considerable savings.

After visiting Kalkan September 2007 I knew it was a very special place and I wanted to purchase a property as soon as I could.
I did all my internet research and made contact with many local estate agents. A lot of properties seemed to be hosted on many sites much, as in the UK when not having a sole agent.
For months I chatted with most of them and made my intention clear that I would be visiting in March 2008 to purchase a villa. The rest is now history.
Lea and Soner from Kalkan Horizon stood out like a beacon in the night. I asked the same question to many agents prior to my visit and received replies from them all. It was the honesty of Lea and Soner at Kalkan Horizon that had my interest though.
I liked many properties, as we all do, but Lea was always quick to highlight the downside as well as the upside. I found this to be interesting and quite compelling also. Especially as the replies I got from other agents only went with the positive.
I arrived in Kalkan hoping to purchase a property. Kalkan Horizon provided us with accommodation and sorted the airport transfers. All was going to plan. I travelled with my partner as this was a joint purchase.
We were advised to bring a camera and a note book to keep track of the properties we inspected. What a godsend this advise was. The days that followed were intense and full on. So many fantastic properties to view and inspect.
My partner and I decided which property we wanted to buy by the end of day one, but went on to see others, just in case. We now proudly own Sunset Blvd, our dream home in Kalkan with views of the Mediterrean sea.
Lea and Soner negotiated with the builder and got us exactly what we wanted within the asking price. The paper work was organised. Soner took us to Kas to organise things that could not be done in Kalkan. It was like a finely oiled machine, though with a personal touch. At no time did we ever feel pressured to purchase, and the combination of Lea, from the UK, and Soner, from Turkey, made understanding each step of the purchase very easy.
Lea has aided us in furnishing the villa and took us from store to store when she felt the prices were not competitive. It was very reassuring when you are a foreigner in a strange country.
And now, Sunset Blvd is ours, but this could not have been accomplished without the support of Kalkan Horizon, namely Lea and Soner.
I have no hesitation in recommending them as agents. Infact, they are the best, as our dream has been realised.
I have informed Lea to give my email address to any potential purchasers. And, I have been contacted by many on email and the telephone. A friend of mine in Harrogate meet a couple at a party and Kalkan came up. They too have now purchased via Kalkan Horizon.
My heart felt advise to anyone looking to purchase a property in Kalkan is talk to Lea and Soner first.
They are honest, considerate and above all have my complete trust. Their property management service now looks after Sunset Blvd. Our dream home in their hands. That in itself is testament to the professional but personal service offered by Kalkan Horizon.
Should we wish to contact me personally, Kalkan Horizon have my full permission to give out personal details.

We bought our property in Kalkan July 2006
Lea and Soner were wonderful through out the whole process.
As soon as we met them they made us feel welcome, we told them exactly what we were looking for and what price range we wanted to go too.
We spent the whole day with Lea and Soner and not once did we feel as if they were trying to push us into buying.
We fell in love with the second property that they showed us, and after we had seen several more they took us back to the one we loved and arranged with the owner a try before you buy, so we spent the following night in what was going to be are dream home, this was far beyond our expectations.
The following day soner got us a good deal on the property and took us to see the lawyer in Kalkan, and then took us to Kas so we could get our deposit from the bank, to give the owner.
When we got back to the UK we kept in touch via email and Lea and Soner sent us photographs of the work that was being done on the property ie New Kitchen, New bathrooms.
When we went back to Kalkan in the November to have a look at the work that had been done Lea and Soner took us Shopping for furniture and everything else we needed to kit the property out, Lea is also good with her ideas.
At the moment we feel that we do not want to rent our dream home out, but as soon as we do we know that we will put this side of things in the trust worthy hands of Lea and Soner.
Thank-You Lea and Soner for your support and help and making our dream come true.

We have no hesitation in recommending Soner and Lea of Kalkan Horizon who helped us with our apartment purchase and continue to help us as our Property Management Service.
We first approached them in May 2006 when they patiently showed us around available properties in the area even treating us to coffee at the Kulube on a Sunday morning which was wonderful. At that point we did not know what we really wanted or even if we wanted to buy but they were not pushy just gave us information and left us to decide. In October of 2006 we returned with a better idea of what we wanted and once again they patiently took us around lots of properties. Once we had settled on an apartment they helped us with many things during the sale. We made the mistake of employing a very expensive lawyer from a British company that "specialises" in purchasing abroad. When they messed up and they did despite their expensive tariff Soner and Lea sorted it out without complaining. Without them pushing it through and resolving problems I feel we probably would still be here today trying to buy it with a more expensive bill too.
They have since helped us with purchasing furniture at reduced prices and helped us employ local craftsmen to make bespoke items for our property. They are trustworthy and honest and have good local knowledge and contacts to help with all the procedures around purchasing and building of properties and of any aftercare of your investment.
Give them a try you will not be disappointed. If you want any further information I am happy for Soner and Lea to give out our email address to contact us.

I fell in love with Kalkan some 6 years ago and in August 2007 decided the time was right for me to buy. I spoke to some friends who had also considered buying there and they suggested that I talk to Kalkan Horizon. They told me I would get on with Lea really well – she knew exactly what they were looking for and they knew she could help me too. I came out again in late September with my daughter with a view to seriously considering buying off plan on a site with wonderful views over the harbour that I had seen in August, but felt I wanted to see what else there was before making a decision. As soon as I met Lea and Soner we instantly gelled, we were completely on the same wave length and so I had every confidence that should she feel I would like a villa – I would! She pointed out pitfalls with the land I fell in love with and it wasn’t to make sure I bought from her, it was just total honesty. She then showed me a villa that was built during the winter of that year – just past the Regency hotel with the most amazing uninterrupted views. As soon as I walked through the gate I knew it was the one. Soner negotiated on my behalf with the builder and arranged all the necessary paperwork so that my Tapu came through very easily. Nothing was too much trouble for them and I knew that if I had any concerns they would fully explain what was happening – it really was that simple. I came out several times in early 2008 to furnished the villa – how easy it is! I just love Villa Susanna and it now feels just like my second home. Should anyone be considering buying a villa or apartment in Kalkan – talk to Kalkan Horizon first, they really are the best people to deal with. I now rent out the villa and they deal with the villa management and have been wonderful. I know if there is a problem or I am worried about things I can just pick up the phone and know that the person at the other end will understand what I mean and deal with it promptly and efficiently. Soner and Lea are a perfect foil for each other, they are not Kalkan Horizon to me anymore, they are my very close friends.
